My FSA Skincare & Stress Relief Routine (That I Actually Use)

I’ll be honest — when I first started using my FSA funds intentionally, I assumed it would just go toward “boring” medical purchases.

Bandages. Contact solution. The usual.

But I realized something: if I’m already spending money on stress relief and skincare tools, why wouldn’t I use pre-tax dollars when they qualify?

This isn’t a luxury spa routine.
It’s my real-life skincare and stress reset setup — and every item qualifies for FSA/HSA. If you’re looking for the full 2026 list of FSA-eligible items on Amazon, start here.

Why I Built a “Skin + Stress” Routine

For me, skincare and stress are connected.

When I’m tense, I clench my jaw. When I’m staring at screens all day, my eyes feel heavy.
When my shoulders are tight, everything feels harder than it needs to be.

So instead of treating these as separate problems, I built a small routine that handles both.

1️⃣ Red Light Therapy Mask

I originally looked into red light therapy for skin support, but what surprised me most was how relaxing it feels.

Ten minutes of red light at night forces me to sit still. No scrolling. No multitasking.

I started taking my skin more seriously this year — not in a dramatic overhaul way, but in a consistency way. I wrote more about that shift here.

It’s one of those purchases that feels like a splurge — but if you’re already investing in skincare, using FSA funds makes it smarter.

You can see the exact one I use in my FSA list here.

2️⃣ Heated Eye Mask

This one is less about beauty and more about tension relief.

If you deal with:

  • Screen fatigue
  • Head pressure
  • Jaw tension
  • Migraines

A heated eye mask feels incredible.

It’s become my “end of day reset” button. I do a full review here.

3️⃣ Back & Neck Massagers

These are the least glamorous and most used.

Long workdays = upper back tension.
And instead of booking appointments constantly, I use heat + massage at home.

These qualify for FSA because they’re considered pain relief devices — which makes them a smart way to use funds before they expire.

Why I Prefer Using FSA for These

Here’s the thing: FSA money is already allocated.

If you don’t use it, you lose it.

I’d rather put that toward:

  • Prevention
  • Stress reduction
  • At-home relief
  • Tools I’ll actually use

Instead of panic-buying random items in December.
